Tyler Bailey

Tyler Bailey was born in New York City and raised in Stratford, Connecticut. At the tender age of two she started dancing in mommy-and-me classes. After years of competitive dancing and training in various styles of dancing, Bailey is best known for her contemporary. Not only is Tyler Bailey a dancer, but she is a choreographer for the Stratford Performing Arts Academy’s Elite/Competitive contemporary team and Stratford High School’s Dance Team competition routines. One of Bailey’s leadership highlights include receiving the MVP honors for four consecutive years(Stratford High School Dance Team), and led her team to a first time win at the South West Conference. Her choreography for this team has stood out at numerous dance competitions and was awarded “Best Choreography” at States and Regionals. Tyler Bailey continues to be recognized for her craft from teachers like Ashley Rich (So You Think You Can Dance Season 8) and awarded the “Triple Threat Award” on the Hofstra University Dance Team for diversity in and out of the arts. Aside from dancing, Bailey has a passion for engineering and architecture. She pursues a civil engineering major and mathematics minor at Hofstra University. Bailey is an ambassador for young aspiring engineers at Hofstra University and collaborates with the Society of Women Engineers on projects to enlighten the future about engineering today. She is an active member of the NAACP board at her college, Black Student Union, Society of Women Engineers, National Society of Black Engineers, Caribbean Students Association, and many more. Bailey is the treasurer of Hofstra Gospel Ensemble and sings and volunteers at local churches across the Long Island community.
